VFMF are champions of the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, #BalanceforBetter. We strive to achieve a balance of female, non-binary and male performers in our artistic lineups. In doing so, we are committed to featuring female artists and female-led bands in our artistic lineups – championing the artistry of women – and bringing their voices and music to our stages.
As part of our International Women’s Day celebrations, we are pleased to reveal our first two artists for 2019….

Irish Mythen
Think back to a time in your life when you heard music that was so powerful and beautiful you were instantly engaged. That very well could have been an Irish Mythen show, an experience in the joy of everything. Born and raised in County Wexford Ireland, Irish Mythen has travelled the globe — playing Europe, Australia, the Middle East and the UK. Irish is a true entertainer who will bring you along for an incredible and emotional journey. Her music has the root of small communities and the strength of a loyal fan base.

Rosie and the Riveters
Rosie & the Riveters never planned to get political. But opening a newspaper or watching the news these days made it impossible to see the status of women around the world and stay silent. The result is Ms. Behave – a collection of gritty, sultry, vintage-inspired folk anthems that paint a portrait of a woman’s voice in a man’s world. Song titles such as “Gotta Get Paid”, “Let ‘em Talk”, “I Wanna Be King” give an idea of what they have to say. The link below, “I Believe You”, sprung from the outrage and sorrow they felt after hearing the recent avalanche of stories of sexual assault.
