What we do

The Vancouver Folk Music Festival Society is a not-for-profit and charitable cultural organization that presents an annual music festival at ʔəy̓alməxʷ Jericho Beach Park, along with concerts and co-productions throughout the year.

Mission

The Vancouver Folk Music Festival is dedicated to presenting exceptional traditional and contemporary folk and roots music, while celebrating the transformative power of community and the joy of discovery.

  • Artistic Excellence Showcasing a diverse array of extraordinary artists, the festival offers concerts and collaborative workshop stages that unlock endless musical possibilities.

  • Environmental Stewardship Passionately protecting and caring for the lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, minimizing our impact on the environment and inspiring our community through progressive initiatives.
  • Social Justice Cultivating an environment where artists, audiences, and volunteers are inspired to engage in meaningful dialogue around building a more fair and equitable society.
  • Reconciliation Honouring and recognizing local Indigenous communities in meaningful ways, through hiring Indigenous artists, working with local Nations to welcome audiences and share traditional knowledge, providing opportunities for vendors and community groups, and other ongoing initiatives.
