Exciting news for a couple of 2013 Festival artists!
Congratulations to both Whitehorse (Melissa McClelland and Luke Doucet) and Mo Kenney for their 2013 SOCAN Songwriting Prize nominations!
The SOCAN Songwriting Prize honours the most creative and artistic songs – English and French – released by independent Canadian songwriters over the past year. The writer(s) of the winning song, as voted by the public between June 3rd and July 3rd, will receive a $5,000 cash prize, plus lots of other great stuff. The winner will be announced during the week of July 8, 2013.
Whitehorse has been nominated for their song, “Devil’s Got a Gun”, and Mo Kenney has been nominated for “Sucker”. Their songs are among only 5 – so kudos to them and the other nominees!
