On the weekend of July 15-17, Jericho Beach Park again plays host to an incredible three days and nights of music. Over 60 music acts from 19 countries, eight states and seven provinces are coming to play for you. FULL LINEUP
There are names you know and love, plus a lot of new and exciting sounds to discover!
There’s bluegrass and blues, hurtin’ and helpin’ tunes, all kinds of Celtic music, banjos, Hawai’i traditional sounds, electro-trad and acoustic, spoken word, music you can dance to… the list of choices and styles is very big! We guarantee you’ll hear something to absolutely love.
The 2016 roster includes a number of familiar names to music fans and lovers of indie, roots and folk music. There’s celebrated and beloved singer-songwriter Bruce Cockburn, Portlandlia’s amazing Americana-blues artist M. Ward, The Wainwright Sisters – Lucy and Martha, L.A. indie-folk band Lord Huron, the legendary Carthy’s – Martin and Eliza, Be Good Tanya alums Jolie Holland and Samantha Parton, Oregon’s good-vibes world music outfit Nahko and Medicine for the People, and long time VFMF favourites, English electric folk-rock-punk group, Oysterband – to name a few.

The festival welcomes music from North Africa, starting with Ramy Essam, the voice of Tahrir Square and the Arab Spring movement of 2011-12, and the desert blues of Faris Amine (Tinariwen, Tamikrest). Discover Chaabi music with Algerian-born artist Karim Saada and his musicians and dancers. And then there’s the glorious West African Afro-soul sounds of Ghanaian artist, Jojo Abot.
Experience the middle eastern grooves of Yemen Blues, the dynamic energy of Estonian folk band Trad.Attack!, and the rhythms and songs of Lakou Mizik, a multi-generational collective of Haitian musicians formed in the aftermath of the devastating 2010 earthquake.
We’ve got music from Mexico, the UK, Ireland, Australia, Venezuela, China, Cape Verde and other parts of the world. With a stunning range of cultures and genres, this is a festival that brings the world to your doorstep. It’s a gathering of music and artists you won’t see anywhere else.
