We’re back in the park, folks! The 46th annual Vancouver Folk Music Festival opened Friday night at Jericho Beach Park with happy crowds, a whole lot of amazing music, that unbeatable view, and lots and lots of good vibes. A Message from the Board

We are delighted to welcome you to the 46th Annual Vancouver Folk Music Festival!

As many of you know, it has been a bit of a rocky road to get here this year. What saved us? So many people stepped forward over the last few months, not only to contribute financially, but also to offer their time and expertise. The provincial government stepped up as well with special funding. Thanks a million!

A dedicated and impassioned team of veteran staff and contractors, volunteer coordinators, board members, advisors from other festivals and many other folks came together to make this amazing event happen in a very short timeline. Long-time and new donors contributed. Experienced volunteers signed up, and new folks came on board – this festival is volunteer-powered and it would not happen without them. A spirit of collaboration and a deep and abiding love for our festival is what fuels all of this effort.

The board is working hard to make this year’s festival a success as well as to plan for and ensure security long into the future. To all those that offered to help out, thank you! Your offer is appreciated and valued – and while we may not yet have had the opportunity to take all of you up on your offers, please know that, going forward, we will be reaching out.
