Steve Earle and the Dukes (TX)

A protégé of legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, Steve Earle quickly became a renowned master storyteller in his own right. When his debut record, Guitar Town, shot to the top of the country charts in 1986, the term ‘new country’ was coined to reflect his revolutionary effect on the music. Since then, his songs have been covered by a who’s who of music greats, and his albums, from biting hard rock to minimalist beauty to politically-charged works of genius, have led to three Grammy Awards. I’ll Never Get Out Of This World Alive, Earle’s 14th studio album, was released alongside his debut novel in 2011. And this year, the 15th album from the Americana/Alt-Country singer/songwriter, the highly anticipated The Low Highway features his live band. And yes, hearing his live band on CD is a cool thing. Almost as cool as actually seeing them live! You can do that when they play Main Stage, Saturday night, July 20th.
