Ruffle Redbird is a silly-song singing lovebird – he makes up songs with your ideas, playing and singing them with you. A beloved annual part of VFMF for many years, he and his family join us this year with three special shows to recreate that fun festival interactive experience. His children, Sapphire and River, have never missed a VFMF. Redbird’s alter ego, Peter G-G, is a professional actor, musician, and stiltwalker of 35 years, having performed across Canada with various theatre and circus companies, as a solo musician, and as well in lead and supporting roles in film and tv.
Let’s Make A Song
Redbird makes a brand new song on the spot – and then, you can sing along! A perennial festival family favourite as it’s so much fun.
The SuperFun Stilt Family
Learn how to make juggling balls at home, then how to juggle – even while walking on tall hands-free stilts! Next, they’ll show you the tall stilts they each use ( 2 and 3 foot sets), and describe how you can make them at home or in a shop, as well as smaller hand-held stilts good for beginners.
Interactive Singalong with Peter G-G and friends to his song Folk Fest Fan!
Peter G-G and friends sing his interactive song Folk Fest Fan, an homage to his love of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival and all fine folk festivals. Join in the fun and sing-a-long as Peter gives you actions to perform – or just kick back and watch the mad mayhem unfold on screen!
