Marin Patenaude
British Columbia

Marin Patenaude is a genre-blurring artist based in Vancouver, known for her spellbinding voice and candid, heartfelt songwriting. Raised in the rural community of Horsefly, BC, Marin grew up surrounded by music, performing in her family’s folk and country band alongside her sister, JUNO Award-winner Pharis Romero. Her musical style weaves together folk, classical country, and jazz, with both raucous energy and tender vulnerability.
An accomplished vocalist and instrumentalist, Marin brings her powerful presence to a variety of projects, including as a vocalist for the acclaimed prog-rock-jazz group Pugs and Crows. Her solo work carries the imprint of wild landscapes and introspective lyricism, inspired by the likes of Neil Young’s Crazy Horse and Tori Amos. Marin’s most recent album is a confessional folk-rock collection full of rich harmonies, poetic grit, and emotional honesty.
Currently, Marin is working on a country record, continuing to explore new territory while remaining deeply rooted in the sounds of her upbringing. Whether on stage or in the studio, her music pulses with life—layered, luminous, and unafraid. As Alex Varty of The Georgia Straight put it, Marin is “a vocalist with genuine star power.”
