Mamselle

Mamselle

Mamselle (Mexico/QC)
Mamselle spent her childhood years singing in church choirs, following that by learning  formal operatic techniques, two years of jazz training and master classes with Dean Bowman (from the Screaming Headless Torsos) and Bobby McFerrin. This combination of influences, plus a whack of natural talent, helped craft this multi-faceted Mexican singer-songwriter’s romantic, jazz and Latin-infused folk songs and folklore. She current resides in Montreal, but while living in the Caribbean, she found inspiration in nature, and further developed a deep appreciation for the cultures of the southern hemisphere, and the north-south blend informs her work. Her music also addresses social issues and inequities. Recognition of her talents has led to invitations to perform at renowned festival across the continent. Now, Mamselle and shares her joie de vivre through her beautiful songs and melodious voice with us.
