Leo Moran and Anthony Thistlethwaite (Ireland)

“Leo and Anto” (Leo Moran & Anthony Thistlethwaite) have been stirring up the musical world together for years as part of the iconic Irish band The Saw Doctors. Leo is the band’s songwriter, singer, guitarist, emcee, and storyteller. He co-wrote all the big Saw Doctors hits like N17, Clare Island, To Win Just Once and I Useta Lover. Anto plays mandolin, saxophone, harmonica and bass guitar with both The Waterboys (he was an original member) and The Saw Doctors. He has also played and recorded with Bob Dylan, Donovan and Fairport Convention, among others.

This summer, these friends have put together a show to bring around – just the two of them, telling stories from more than 20 years on the road and sharing favourite songs: their own take on well-known Saw Doc’s hits along with lesser-known and less-played tunes. Sounds grand, doesn’t it?

“…two musicians of the highest order giving one hundred percent to the enjoyment of the audience … humorous … melodic … bloody brilliant.”
