Hurray for the Riff Raff (LA)
Hurray for the Riff Raff is Alynda lee Segarra, a 25-year-old Puerto Rican from the Bronx. She left home at an early age to travel the country, eventually settling in New Orleans where she began performing and recording with a revolving cast of musicians. Then, along with her long time fiddling sidekick, Yosi Perlstein, Segarra teamed up with the honky-tonk band called The Tumbleweeds, and great things started to happen, including the release of Look Out Mama. With them, she incorporated rock ‘n roll, pop, and soul into her folk and country repertoire.  The Tumbleweeds are now their touring band, playing everything from Swamp Pop and classic Country to a kind of psychedelic sound. While they cover a lot of musical ground, every song and note is unified by Alynda’s soulful vocals and expert songwriting. You have got to catch her and this band!
