Don McGlashan with special guest Anita Clark | New Zealand

Considered a music legend in his native New Zealand, composer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist Don McGlashan is a consummate songwriter – an astute storyteller of poignant parables, pointing to the universal through the specific. These are the kind of songs that can get under your skin and stay for a long time. Combined with his evocative voice, the result can be captivating.

McGlashan is a veteran of some on NZ’s most popular groups, like Blam Blam Blam and The Mutton Birds,  and the list of his awards, credits and chart-topping accomplishment are too numerous to list here.  His latest solo album, though, 2022’s Bright November Morning, debuted at #1 on the NZ music charts. Enough said.

McGlashan is joined by fellow New Zealander, Anita Clark. Described as a “hotbed of creativity” by NZ Musician, Clark is a violinist and composer from Ohinehoo/Lyttleton. She records as MOTTE (German for “moth”), the name reflecting the fluttering nocturnal sound that permeates her solo work. She describes her own sound as “ambient, modern classical/cinematic, alt/experimental pop.”

These two innovative Kiwi artists will bring some special New Zealand magic to Jericho Beach.
