Tim Hearsey

Tim Hearsey is an in-demand session guitarist and Juno-winner for his work as a sound engineer and producer. He also write’s songs and is featured in the Buckerfield’s Song Circle, as well as the Buckerfield’s band. A key player in many bands (Grand Koolios, Cannery Row at present) Tim is one of those Canadian roots veterans who has played with an amazing array of fantastic musicians like Bo Diddley, Pinetop Perkins and Taj Mahal, just to name a few. He has a self described, “lifelong affection and beautiful affliction with the blues”. We are so happy to have him joining us this year for VFMF.

Kate Main & Warren Murfitt

Known for their band Murfitt & Main, Kate and Warren are both great songwriters, creating and singing beautiful harmonies together and plumbing the depths of country, bluegrass and western swing. Their original songs possess a clarity rooted in the living tradition of rural folk and roots music. Heartbreak, honky tonks, whiskey, unions, religion, and Canadian landscapes all make their way into their wonderful songs. They often play as a duo, or with other great musicians, and are busy recording new material. For VFMF this year, they are featured in both the Buckerfield’s Band and the Buckerfield’s Song Circle.

Paul Pigat

Paul Pigat is widely considered one of the best guitar players in North America.  He has one of the most restless, combustible, musical imaginations – crammed like canned heat into a single body.  Blessed with a jazz man’s sheen, a rockabilly heart, and a hobo’s soul, his musical projects span many projects.  In addition to his own bands, and sharing the stage with luminaries like Jeff Beck and Albert Lee, Paul also teaches guitar Master classes locally, virtually and at international guitar workshops.
