Artists Spotlight: Lucy Ward

In addition to being a multi-award-winning singer-songwriter, Lucy Ward‘s voice is breathtaking. She sings traditional English folk songs beautifully – and inspired by her roots in the folk tradition, writes her own songs about people, places, stories of her Derby home. She never shies away from the big issues, but she also has a knack of singing about the ‘little moments’ that shape and touch us all. Her sensitive and mature writing belies her young years, and her love and passion for folk music comes through in every note from that warm and vibrant voice.

Sometimes blond, sometimes brunette, sometimes blue-haired or in elaborate headgear, Lucy has performed all over the world, including two Glastonbury Festival main stages. She’s released three albums to spectacular reviews, won a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award, and is the youngest person to ever be nominated for BBC Folk Singer of the Year. We think we’re going to fall in love with Miss Lucy Ward. Join us!
