Little folks 12 and under get into the Festival free when accompanied by a paid adult!

On site we have a wide range of activities for kids of all ages. Please note that we do not provide a child-minding service and that little ones must be accompanied by an adult in the area.

Clay Making
Pinch and press a ball of clay into a cup or bowl or use your imagination to create whimsical dragons and animals.  Discover the sculptor within you.

Creation Station
It’s easy being green, and so much fun when you repurpose recycled materials into one-of-a-kind hats, sparkly jewelry or other objects of art with which to adorn yourself.

Face Painting
Paint your own face or let one of our talented volunteers transform you into a super hero, an animal – or whatever your heart desires. Our paints are water soluble and completely safe.

Free Play and Other Activities
Join in the free play area with lots of things to have fun with like beanbags, scoops, tunnels and jumping balls. Christa and her team of hoopers are back again to entertain you and lead mini classes throughout the weekend.

Larger than Life Painting
Let the world inspire you! Drawing and painting techniques are the focus of this large-scale workshop based on life-size still-life drawing. Utilizing 6-foot high easels, children and their families will be encouraged to look at their surrounding with an artist’s eye and create their own unique art piece. Practicing artists working in a variety of mediums will provide support and inspiration. This project is created and presented by Arts Umbrella.

Lantern-making fun!
Join the Secret Lantern Society to make your own take-home lantern. This easy design can be done by all ages and can be as simple or elaborate as you like. The workshop is on-going throughout the day so drop by any time! Also, add your own dash of imagination to the large Community Lantern that will be proudly paraded out each evening in the lantern procession. Be sure to save your lantern for the 20th Annual Winter Solstice Lantern Festival this December:

Madskillz Roving Performers
Christa Giles brings her team of roving performers, including the always popular stilt walkers, hoopers, and spinners to entertain children and adults throughout the weekend. Christa and her team of hoopers will run mini classes throughout the weekend.

Water Play
Cool off, play and splash with water toys in tubs full of bubbles. Experience the magic of watching bubbles float skyward creating colourful rainbows.

Make sure your children know the location of the Festival Information Tent (it’s west of the Evening Concert Main Stage, near the pond) so you can connect there if needed.
