The Americans perform original rock & roll with deep roots in traditional American music. Formed in LA in 2010, they have toured the US, twice accompanying Grammy and Oscar-winner Ryan Bingham.

2013 saw them perform on The Late Show with David Letterman in support of their appearance on Hal Willner’s Son of Rogues Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs & Changeys compilation. Executive produced by Johnny Depp, the collection also featured Tm Waits, Keith Richards, Nick Cave – and Martin and Eliza Carthy. Reviewing the album in April’s Believer Magazine, critic Greil Marcus wrote, “The Americans [are] led by Patrick Ferris, whose deep voice doesn’t sound like Richard Manuel’s but feels like it.”

In 2013, The Americans performed at the Telluride Film Festival and the AFI Film Festival, honouring the Coen Brothers and music producer T Bone Burnett for their past collaborations and the premier of Inside Llewyn Davis. The American’s music is featured in the Michael Mann-produced film Texas Killing Fields starring Sam Worthington and Chloe Moretz. The soundtrack includes two original compositions by the band, “Kiss Your Eyes” and “When the Blaze is Blue.”

The Americans are: Patrick Ferris (vocals, guitar), Zak Sokolow (electric guitar, banjo, violin), Jake Faulkner (bass), and Tim Carr (drums).
