Jason Burnstick (MB)

It has been said of Jason Burnstick that “his voice and guitar together will remind you that you have a soul.” Jason is a musician and composer who performs his own brand of blues and folk, often flavoured with Latin influences, on his arsenal of weissenborns and lap slide guitars. This 2010 APCA (Aboriginal People’s Choice Music Award) Winner, Juno nominee and Canadian Aboriginal Music Award-Winning artist is known for his ability to freely move from one style to the next. Jason attributes this freedom to a musical upbringing free of constraints. He has toured with the Andean group Kanatan Aski, performed with artists Leela Gilday, George Leach and INEZ, and has written music for, and appeared in, touring theatre, in documentaries and on television in addition performing with his own band across Canada.
