I Draw Slow (Ireland)

When you think of Ireland’s music, the rich and glorious Celtic tradition comes to mind, with pipes, and bodhrans and the like.

But the group I Draw Slow, who the Irish Independent called “one of the most beguiling and singular acts currently on the circuit” challenges those musical expectations. Playing Americana, bluegrass and Appalachian flavoured trad and country tunes, this Dublin-based quintet have been wowing audiences all over the world with their unique smorgasbord of styles and influences. They’re oceans away from the

Americas, yet the connecting roots run deep – and their sound is natural and authentic.

Led by siblings Dave (guitar) and Louise Holden (vocals), who pen their “original, enthralling, & outstandingly written songs”, they re-interpret and re-imagine Americana with a distinct Celtic twist. On stage, in their music and in their between-tune patter, there’s a strong storytelling element running through all they do.

The Independent went on to warn, “Resistance is futile. It is simply impossible not to get lost in their deliriously infectious energy.” Here’s another band we just can’t wait to see!!
