Bon Débarras (QC)
Bon Débarras (in English: “good riddance” and also “good storage”) is a trio of brilliant young Montréal multi-instrumentalists who play music at full throttle. They bring together traditional French-Canadian music inspired, through immigration, by Irish, Scottish and English music with the influences of modern-day, multicultural Montreal. The result is an original roots music that just pulses with the infectious beat of podorythmie (foot percussion). Those dancing feet and their driving rhythms are at the core of the band’s live experience. Add guitars, banjo, accordion, harmonica, washboard and vibrant vocals to the picture, and in their talented hands, feet and voices, you are on your way to a very happy place. When Jean-François Dumas, Cedric Dind-Lavoie and Dominic Desrochers hit the stage, you’ll say “good riddance” to sad feelings.
