We’re Hiring!
The Vancouver Folk Music Festival is hiring a Production Manager for the 2024 Festival, taking place July 19 – 21 at Jericho Beach Park in Vancouver.
The Production Manager coordinates all production-related activities involved in the delivery of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival. Reporting to the General Manager, the Production Manager works closely with the Artistic Director and Artistic Associate to determine the technical requirements for every performance during the festival weekend, and sources all sound, lighting, and backline equipment needed. They also supervise the Site Crew and interact with other festival staff and volunteers in the lead-up to the festival weekend.
Please send your resume and cover letter to Katie Stenning, General Manager, at employment@thefestival.bc.ca by March 1, 2024. Only short-listed candidates will be contacted.

Shari Ulrich (High Bar Gang) “What a weekend! It was teeming with gratitude as thousands of music lovers, artists and volunteers reveled in the return of our cherished Festival. The smart adaptations to make that possible didn’t compromise our unparalleled Utopic experience one bit. I was so proud to share it with my Oregon family!”
We couldn’t say it any better ourselves!

alienatedinvancouver.blogspotcom “Coming to the Vancouver Folk Fest was ‘definitely a bucket list’ item for Twin Flames, Jaaji says. ‘… And here we are, we’re at one of the best music festivals in all of Canada, one of the best folk festivals in all the world. We’re just happy to be here!’. ‘It’s a beautiful place with beautiful people,’ Chelsey June adds. As they sign my CD, crows caw from overhead. Children run happily down trails, past pecking ducks and people gnawing tornado potatoes off sticks. Sun shines down through flickering leaves; a dragonfly zips by. It’s pretty much impossible to disagree.”

The Spirit of Giving is Strong
THANKS to our three incredible matching donors and the many, many folks who visited the Donations Tent and gave online this weekend, we were able to surpass our stretch goal of $60,000! Amazing!
We still need help to bring the festival back next year – so if you were too swept away by the beautiful music to donate during the festival you can make a gift today to help keep the music playing!

A Message from the Board
Now that the gates have closed on the 46th Vancouver Folk Music Festival, we can take a moment to reflect on the last few weeks and months. It’s been a time of hard work and dedication in the face of challenging circumstances – a true labour of love for everyone involved. As the Society’s Board, and on behalf of the Festival, we are immensely grateful to everyone who pitched in to make VFMF2023 a glorious reality.
We are indebted to the Coast Salish peoples on whose unceded traditional territories of the Vancouver Folk Festival takes place –the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) nation, the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and the səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) nations. We express our deep gratitude to those who have cared for this land from time immemorial.
To everyone who attended VFMF 2023, thank you!
To the over 40 extraordinary artists and groups from nearby and around the world, thank you for sharing your music with us.
To the 1000+ volunteers who just made things work – you were wonderful. As always.
To those folks who gave that little bit extra, who dug deep to support and sustain the festival – who donated, bought raffle tickets, stepped up in so many ways – you have everybody’s deep appreciation.
To the Festival’s neighbours, our community, colleagues and friends – thank you so very much for your good will, energy, and assistance.
And to our Sponsors, Funders, and Community Partners – and to the Vancouver Parks Board for lending us our beautiful Jericho Beach Park again – our gratitude to you for your support and generosity.
All of this and so much more contributed to making our 46th something truly special.
Thank you all again.
– Board of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival Society
