Hawksley Workman is many things – a singer, songwriter, broadcaster, performer, producer, poet, playwright, and multi instrumentalist. A staple on the Canadian arts and music scene for over a decade and a half, he has released around 15 albums with the latest, Old Cheetah, due out soon. He has written songs for celebrated artists the world over and is one third of the band Mounties. His producing work has been attached to many successful artists, including Tegan and Sara, Serena Ryder, Great Big Sea, and Sarah Slean.

He’s a versatile musician, and above all an instinctive storyteller. His music can be described as a festive blend of folk-rich classical cabaret combined with rock and pop. He sings of things enduring and universal; his songs are catchy yet creative. Flamboyant charisma and deliciously sensual lyrics ooze out of him.

And, as CBC Music puts it, “Hawksley Workman is many things to many people in many places, but primarily, he’s a student of the human psyche; an artist in the purest sense of the word, constantly finding fresh and interesting ways to frame and share the world – the people we are and the things we encounter. It’s a virtually bottomless well of ideas for a man with virtually endless imagination and creative outlets.”
