Celeigh Cardinal

Celeigh Cardinal (AB)

Celeigh Cardinal is a Métis singer-songwriter from the Peace Country of northern Alberta. Her contralto voice harkens back to the earlier days of blues and the golden era of jazz.

Celeigh released her first full-length album, Everything and Nothing at All, in 2017, which features breakout track “There Ain’t No Way.” The album earned Celeigh Indigenous Artist of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards and a nomination for Best Pop Album at the CBC Indigenous Music Awards. She racked up eight nominations at the Edmonton Music Awards, winning Female Artist of the Year and Indigenous Recording of the Year.

Celeigh has performed across Canada and the United States and internationally, including an appearance at the Live at Heart Showcase in Orebro, Sweden. She received a REVEAL Indigenous Arts Award from the Hnatyshyn Foundation in Winnipeg and participated in the (Re)Claim program at the Banff Centre for the Arts. Celeigh is the first Indigenous radio personality on Alberta’s famed radio network, CKUA. She has also done work for CBC Edmonton and hosts a podcast.

Cardinal has 17 years of performance experience under her belt and two commercial releases to her credit. Her storytelling skills and the soul and heartfelt emotion in her performances and personality prepare audiences for both happiness and reflection.

“Her performance was stellar. Riveting. Real. A writer of rare depth and honesty and with a voice of powerful beauty. I felt the songs and I felt lucky to bear witness. A true light.” David Francey
