Reid Jamieson (BC)
“Gorgeous, sunstruck, acoustic soul”* – here’s Reid Jamieson. He was born and raised in Toronto, but now calls the west coast home. Reid is also a favourite and regular member of CBC’s Vinyl Café Orchestra and a grand prize winner for folk in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for his song RAIL. Not only is he an inspired songwriter, but he’s also a gifted interpreter of other’s classic and cult tunes. Along with his compelling vocals and impressive guitar work, every song Reid sings draws you in, whether it be a tale of romance or loss, evoking tears or laughter, they all become uniquely his own. He’s been called “a male kd Lang, a poor man’s Michael Buble, and Roy Orbison’s long lost son,” but there ain’t no one like Reid, and we’re thrilled we’ll get to know our fellow West Coaster better at this year’s festival.
