Committee: Performers Transportation
Number of years volunteering: 9

What memory stands out most when you think of your time at the Festival?
Driving The Proclaimers to and from the Airport was pretty cool. I think they turned their Scottish accents up to 11 just for my benefit.

Why do you volunteer for the Festival? What inspires you?
Beautiful commie music: Utah Phillips, Bob Bossin, the Solidarity Notes, Billy Bragg, Si Kahn, Geoff Berner, Grace Petrie… they make it all worth fighting for. Teamwork. Sticking together. Meeting new people.

What’s your favourite part of the Festival?
The beer garden and Stages 2 & 3.

What advice would you give to new volunteers?
Breathe, stay calm, be patient, keep your sense of humour, and remember you’re here to give, not get. Just like any weekend fling.
