One Memory?

My girlfriend, Gaye, encouraging me to join her and dozens of other volunteers on stage to sing the finale with Ferron and Roy Forbes! What a moment!

Why Volunteer?

To be part of a magical Vancouver weekend. Working with a diverse body of volunteers, different languages, politics, ways of working, and reasons to volunteer is exhilarating! Set against the backdrop of Jericho Park, in rain or shine this is an awesome experience.

Favourite Part?

Volunteering with friendly people who are in high school, college, mid-career shifts, retirement, artists, DJs, crafts people, dancers, foodies, story-tellers (some who take a bit of prompting to tell theirs) to make this incredible weekend a success.

Biggest Surprise?

When my volunteer shift slowed I worked with other committees including the water filling stations. I never would have guessed water station would prove to be so much fun. Festival goers told entertaining stories while they filled up with water!
