What memory stands out most when you think of your time at the Festival?

I love finding a nice area to lay down and listen to the music, after a shift or even before. It gets me into my zone! Also- being in the volunteer area and I always have the amazing chance to eat meals with the musicians! They inspire me so much!

Why do you volunteer for the Festival? What inspires you?

I volunteer because first of all, volunteering is my favourite thing. I love to give back, also I meet so many amazing people everywhere! Festival goers, fellow volunteers.. We are all here for the same reason – to have a good time! To be yourself and to get out and meet new faces! I am so inspired by the musicians, hearing bands I never heard of, their music is so amazing! I learn so much about myself in one weekend just through music and volunteering!

What’s your favourite part of the Festival?

Honestly, I would have to say the volunteering! I love being the face welcoming my fellow-volunteers the work we put in, how everyone is so happy to be together working to get everyone signed in, we spoil each other in the mornings with bringing coffee and donuts to the early shifts, just as a surprise!

As a volunteer we look after each other and the more senior volunteers are so great with helping out the newer ones, we take pride and it shows. I love helping anyone who looks like they need a hand, even if my shift is over, I will still help! The festival is seriously the most fun I have of the year!!

What advice would you give to new volunteers?

Be patient, ask questions- there is no such thing as a dumb question! Talk to other volunteers outside your committee, and of course, be so happy and proud you are volunteering for one of the best festivals out there! Best of all, have fun! We are all volunteers, we are all family!!
