The Vancouver Folk Music Festival takes the top spot in the Georgia Straight reader’s poll for “Best Local Music Festival” – and ties at third with the amazing PuSH International Performing Arts Festival for “Best Local Performing Arts Festival”. We’re thrilled, and totally gratified by this recognition. In a city with so many great festivals and music events, this is a real honour.It’s icing on the cake of a great year for the festival – so yay!
Cheers to everyone who voted, and for recognizing that after 32 years of bringing you the people’s music, the Vancouver Folk Music Festival continues to play a vital leading role in Vancouver and in the region’s cultural and music scene. Our thanks again go out to the amazing musicians who graced this year’s stages and who generated such excitement, and to everyone who made it all happen. Thanks also for the weather and Mother Nature in general (& the City of Vancouver) for Jericho Beach Park.
