Our Partners & Funders

The following partners and funders supported the 2007 Vancouver Folk Music Festival. Our 2008 supporters will be announced at the end of May.

PUBLIC FUNDERS

The Vancouver Folk Music Festival Society receives grants from a number of public funders to assist in the production of this Festival. All three levels of government join us in celebrating the cultures reflected in our programming line-up and show a strong commitment to the many communities who attend this event. Each year, the various government officers and program coordinators give crucial support to Festival staff as we prepare grant applications.

City of Vancovuer
The CITY OF VANCOUVER helps in two ways. The office of Cultural Affairs in the Social Planning Department oversees programs through which we receive operating funds from the City. The Board of Parks and Recreation allows us to use Jericho Beach Park. City staff help us get building permits and help deal with issues of vehicle parking near the Park. www.city.vancouver.bc.ca
British Columbia Arts Council The BRITISH COLUMBIA ARTS COUNCIL, supported by the Province of British Columbia, provides operating funds to support the payment of artist fees and other costs of producing the Festival. The staff of the BCAC evaluates the Festival and works with a committee of experienced festival producers and participants to determine the level of our yearly grant. www.bcac.gov.bc.ca
Government of Canada The Government of Canada contributes through CANADIAN HERITAGE / ARTS PRESENTATION CANADA, recognizing the part our Festival plays in celebrating the diverse cultures of Canada. ARC/CH provides us with operating funds. www.pch.gc.ca
We acknowledge the contribution made by the PROVINCE OF BRITISH COLUMBIA by providing access to gaming funds.
